"One of the main goals of Strange Encounters is to foster a community that is in love with this music scene, and has just as much passion as the band's, and ourselves to go out and contribute to it in their own way. First and foremost, we are creator's.
While it would be easier for us to let this community grow without restriction, it is our responsibility- and your responsibility- as creators to foster a community of diversity, safety, and love.
If you are a bigot- you are not welcome.
If you are a racist- you are not welcome.
If you are anti-lgbtq- you are not welcome.
If you are a fascist- you are not welcome.
If there is hate in your heart...
For the immigrant's that make this nation so great.
For the people of color that have been so unfairly treated.
For the impoverished community's that are constantly walked over.
You are not welcome.
Silence is still taking a side, and there is no such thing as treating the other side with respect when they call for "the largest deportation program in American history." Calling their own fellow American's "R*pist" "P*dofiles" and "the enemy from within."
Freedom of Speech does not mean Freedom of Consequence.
So to my fellow creators, my fellow people that must create because our hearts demand it. Know that your creation's hold power, and you can use it for the greater good.
